I was hurt in a horrific motorcycle accident that left me paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair at 14. I was riding my yz 80cc and overcleared a jump and almost flew off a cliff with a lake and a ton of trees at the bottom, but instead, last second, I jumped off the bike and went head on with a tree. I broke my neck and severed my spinal cord. I am a case study at LLUMC. My left lung collapsed, my right lung was filling with fluid, I could not control my heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, I was on total life support. Maximum life support is 21 days, they let me go 23. The surgeons worked 15 hours while I was practically on my death bed and removed a vertabrae, filled it with some of my hip bone, wrapped it with chicken wire, bolted a titanium cage around it, I also fractured my back neck bones and the base of my skull, so I have 2 titanium rods down the back of my neck.
